Three new Little One treats: tasty to gnaw, fun to play with

Caring for a pet is not only about providing the right diet — keeping them entertained is important too. Every loving pet owner wants to prevent their pet from getting bored, as boredom can affect an animal’s emotional well-being. Toys and treat-toys offer a natural solution.

Why do pets need treats in unusual shapes?

In the wild, rodents and rabbits spend a lot of time searching and working for food — gnawing, rolling objects around and handling them with their paws. At home, food is readily available: all they need to do is approach their feeding bowl. As a result, many natural behaviors take a back seat, and pets may become bored and less active.

• Tasty loop with herbs and greens — an aromatic treat for guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas and degus

The Tasty bowl is made from crunchy puffed grains and seeds and comes with one of six delicious and nutritious fillings: millet sprays, puffed buckwheat, carrot, flaked peas, pumpkin seeds or crunchy corn. The bowl keeps pets entertained, helps support dental health and adds variety to their diet. And once the filling has been eaten, simply refill the bowls to keep the fun going.

The Tasty loop combines a crunchy treat with an engaging toy. At its core is a sturdy ring made from natural beech wood. Once the tasty coating has been eaten, the wooden ring can continue to serve as a toy and a useful tool for wearing down constantly growing teeth.

How to use treat-toys

• Leave the Tasty loop in the cage or enclosure after the treat has been eaten. The beech wood base can continue to support natural gnawing and dental care.
• Use the treat during playtime together — it can help your pet become more comfortable with your attention and hands.
• Offer a new bowl or loop when your pet will be alone for an extended period — it can help keep them occupied and reduce boredom.
• Change the filling in the bowl to maintain your pet’s interest and bring more variety to playtime.
